ATRIL 43: CELEBRATE & GIVE THANKS

In issue 43 of El Atril, we celebrate and give thanks. We celebrate the journey we have taken, the legacy we have inherited and the projects that continue to grow; and we thank those who, with commitment and dedication, have sown the seeds that are now bearing fruit in our region.
To celebrate is to recognise a job well done and to raise a toast to what lies ahead. That is why, in our ‘Wine of the Month’ section, we raise our glasses to a milestone for Extremadura: the launch of the first sparkling wine with the Ribera del Guadiana Designation of Origin, a symbol of a region that is evolving without losing its essence. Because if there is one thing that accompanies every celebration, it is a toast, and this one springs from our own vineyards.
And we also pay tribute to the living memory passed down from generation to generation with the launch of the new section “The way my mother made it”, a space where Rural Women’s Associations share knowledge, recipes and roots. Tradition, identity and the future come together in these pages, which reaffirm our mission: to promote, support and defend the gastronomic culture of Extremadura.
In that same spirit of broadening horizons whilst continuing to celebrate our own heritage, the “Traveller Gourmet” section invites us to look beyond our borders, guided by Francisco Ribero, who introduces us to flavours from other places and reminds us that discovering the world is also a way of enriching and appreciating our own.
This issue is, in short, a collective toast. A sincere thank you and a shared celebration.
Happy Monday!
